This calculator gives illustrative estimates from the figures you enter. It is not financial, legal or clinical advice and does not guarantee any outcome. Search rankings, advertising costs and patient demand change over time and are outside our control. We hold no industry benchmark behind these figures: every number is yours. How the Numbers Work
Every figure comes from your own numbers and one line of maths. Nothing is estimated behind the scenes. Extra patients are taken to one decimal place first, and money to the nearest pound, so each line can be checked by hand.
Visitors × (new enquiry rate − current enquiry rate)
Extra visitors × share who enquire
(Monthly budget ÷ cost per click) × share who enquire
Extra enquiries × share who become patients
Extra patients × revenue per patient (or gross profit per patient if you added a margin)
Worth, minus cost. Break-even is the cost divided by what one patient is worth. Payback is the first month the running total reaches zero.
The three cases multiply the extra enquiries by 50%, 100% and 150%. Costs stay the same in each. They show how sensitive the answer is to your own assumptions. They are not predictions.
Common Questions
It turns the figures you enter, such as visitors, enquiry rates and the value of a new patient, into an estimate of what extra patients from a better website, Google Ads or SEO could be worth to your clinic. It is a planning aid based on your own assumptions, not a forecast, and real results can be higher, lower or nil.
We multiply the extra enquiries your numbers produce by the share that become patients and by the value you place on each patient, then take off the cost you enter. The sums are shown under the results, so you can change any figure and see exactly how the estimate moves.
It is the income a new patient brings your practice, usually the first appointment plus any follow-up treatment. A simple way to start is the average treatment value multiplied by the typical number of visits. Use your own records so the estimate reflects your clinic and not an average.
Patient lifetime value is the total income you expect from one patient across the whole time they use your clinic, minus direct costs if you want a profit view. It matters because some patients return for years. Estimate it from your own booking and billing data, and be cautious with long timeframes.
It is the marketing spend divided by the number of new patients that spend brought in over the same period. If you spend a set amount and gain a certain number of new patients, divide one by the other. Track it by channel so you can compare Google Ads and SEO fairly.
It varies with competition, your location, your website and the work involved, so no one can promise a timescale. Google says some changes take effect within hours and others several months. The SEO tab lets you set how many months to full effect and shows the cost while you wait.
There is no single right figure. It depends on your goals, capacity, treatment values and how many patients you can see. A practical approach is to work backwards from the number of new patients you want and the value of each, then set a budget you can review. Take advice from your accountant too.
Nothing. The calculator runs in your browser, so your numbers and results stay on your device and are not sent to us. The link you can copy holds only the figures on the page, and anyone you share it with can open it. See our privacy policy for how we handle data you give us elsewhere on the site.
