Healthcare PPC is paid advertising for clinics across several platforms at once: Google search, YouTube, display, Meta, LinkedIn and newer channels such as ChatGPT. The job is deciding where the budget goes, keeping every advert within the CAP Code and each platform's health rules, and measuring cost per booked patient across all of them.

Ads That Find, Engage, and Convert Patients
Our healthcare PPC services are built around intelligent targeting, strategic placements, and transparent performance. Each campaign is crafted to connect your clinic with the right audience, driving meaningful enquiries, stronger visibility, and measurable growth through precise optimisation.
Google, Meta and LinkedIn are managed by different people with different targets, so channels compete for credit instead of working together.
Budget follows habit, not intent.
Spend sits on the channel the clinic started with, not the one where patients are ready to book.
Nobody counts the same patient once.
Each platform claims the booking, so the totals add up to more patients than the diary shows.
Platform rules are learnt the hard way.
A creative that passes on one platform is rejected on another, and campaigns stop while it is fixed.

We only work in private healthcare: 40+ UK private clinics, consultants and medical groups, and nothing else. No e-commerce, no restaurants, no property. Every page we publish is written against the CAP code, the GMC and GDC advertising guidance and your CQC registration requirements, because the alternative is a website that costs you a complaint rather than a patient.

Our Way of Working
How we plan paid media for a clinic.
Our healthcare PPC service sits above the individual platforms. We decide which channels a clinic should use, in what order and with what share of budget, then manage them as one programme with one report. Fees are quoted after a call; see healthcare marketing pricing.
Weekly working sessions
Live dashboards on day one
01
Channel plan before campaigns
We map each treatment to how patients look for it: search for urgent or named treatments, video and social for problems people do not yet search for, LinkedIn for referrers and corporate buyers.
02
One report, de-duplicated
We compare platforms against bookings in your own system, not each platform's own count, so budget moves to the channels that really fill the diary.
Health and wellness
Health and wellness PPC agency
As a health PPC agency we plan Google, Meta, LinkedIn and YouTube as one programme with one report, measured on patient bookings rather than clicks. As a wellness PPC agency we apply the same method to preventive health and wellbeing clinics; see our wellness and preventive health clinics marketing agency page for how we work in that sector.
Choosing channels
Which paid channels suit which clinic goal
Not every clinic needs every platform. This is how we match channels to goals before any budget is committed.

What drives the cost of healthcare PPC across channels
A multi-channel programme has three parts: media spend paid to each platform, creative production and management time. We do not quote benchmark prices because they vary by specialty, area and season.

Factor
Why it matters
How we handle it
Number of channels
Each platform needs its own setup, creative sizes and policy checks.
Start with one or two channels that match intent, then add.
Creative needs
Video and social need more assets, and they tire faster than search ads.
Plan a refresh cycle and reuse footage across platforms.
Tracking and attribution
Without joined-up tracking, budget decisions rest on each platform's own claims.
Set consent-aware tracking and compare against bookings.
Regulatory review
Some treatments need closer checking against the CAP Code and MHRA rules.
Review copy before launch, with your clinician where needed.
Competition and area
Busy specialties and central London cost more per click and per impression.
Target where patients actually come from.
Ad budgets are paid to the platforms and are separate from our fee, which is quoted after a free strategy call. See our guide to healthcare PPC management costs in the UK.
This is general information, not legal advice. Platform policies change, so confirm specifics with your regulator or adviser and check the current policy before a campaign goes live.

What Google, Meta and the ASA allow in healthcare PPC
PPC for healthcare is governed by three layers: the platform's policy, the CAP Code and medicines law. These are the published rules we plan every channel against, read from each owner's own pages in November 2026.
Google: UK telemedicine needs certification
Google's healthcare and medicines policy says UK online pharmacies must be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council and certified by Google, and telemedicine providers need LegitScript certification as well. Neither may promote prescription drugs in ads or landing pages (Google Ads policy).
Google: health limits your audiences
Google treats health, including invasive procedures such as cosmetic surgery and injections, as a sensitive interest category. Customer Match, your data segments, audience expansion and lookalike segments are not supported for it (Google, health in personalized advertising).
Meta: cosmetic ads are for adults only
Meta's Health and Wellness standard says ads for cosmetic products, procedures or surgeries must target people aged 18 or over and must not use statements of inferiority about appearance (Meta Advertising Standards).
ASA: no prescription-only medicines
The ASA says Botox is a prescription-only medicine that cannot be advertised to the public under CAP rule 12.12, even when a health professional administers it (ASA, botulinum toxin products).
For your campaigns, this means each channel needs its own audience setup, ad copy and landing page review before launch. It reduces rejection and complaint risk but does not guarantee results. See our Google Ads, Facebook advertising and LinkedIn advertising pages for channel detail.

The things clinics ask us most about paid media marketing ppc. Anything we haven't covered? Send us a note.
01What is PPC, and how does it work for healthcare marketing?
PPC is paid advertising that positions your healthcare services prominently in search results using targeted keywords. Our agency creates campaigns designed to attract patients searching for specific treatments or consultants. You pay only when someone clicks. This approach delivers immediate visibility, supports competitive markets, and helps practices reach motivated patients quickly across multiple platforms during key moments of patient decision-making.
02How can PPC benefit my healthcare practice or service?
PPC benefits healthcare practices by providing immediate visibility for targeted treatments, specialists, and clinical services. Our experts design campaigns that reach patients searching with strong intent. PPC supports appointment generation, event promotion, and competitive positioning. Detailed tracking helps optimise spending. This strategy allows practices to appear quickly, attract qualified enquiries, and strengthen overall digital performance across all major advertising channels.
03How do you ensure PPC campaigns target the right healthcare audience?
We refine targeting by using keywords, demographics, locations, and patient intent signals relevant to your services. Our specialists analyse behaviour data and competitor activity to identify ideal audiences. Next, we create tailored ad groups that match specific treatments or conditions. Continuous monitoring ensures wasted spending is reduced. This approach consistently reaches motivated patients seeking trusted clinical support and reassurance.
04How quickly does PPC advertising work?
PPC advertising works quickly because ads appear immediately once campaigns go live. Our team identifies effective keywords and designs compelling messages to reach motivated patients. Most healthcare practices see early clicks or enquiries within days. Continuous optimisation helps improve performance. This rapid visibility supports time-sensitive promotions, competitive services, and growing clinics needing faster patient engagement during high-demand medical periods, too.
05Can PPC work for specialised healthcare services?
Yes, PPC works effectively for specialised healthcare services because targeting can focus on precise treatments or conditions. We build campaigns that speak directly to niche patient needs. Highly specific keywords help attract motivated individuals seeking advanced care. Tailored messaging supports complex services. This approach strengthens visibility, drives qualified enquiries, and supports specialists competing in crowded clinical markets very effectively.
06What does a health PPC agency do?
A health PPC agency plans and manages pay-per-click advertising for clinics, consultants and hospital groups across channels such as Google, Meta, LinkedIn and YouTube. At Pulse Digital Health that includes the budget split, ad copy checked against the CAP Code and platform health policies, landing pages and reporting on cost per booked patient rather than clicks.
07Which rules apply to PPC for healthcare in the UK?
PPC for healthcare is governed by the platform's policy, the CAP Code and medicines law. Google restricts UK telemedicine and online pharmacy ads, Meta limits cosmetic ads to adults, and the ASA does not allow prescription-only medicines to be advertised to the public. We check ads, audiences and landing pages against these rules before launch, and no outcome is guaranteed.
